Morning in the Golan

This watercolor was painted during my time in the Golan Heights, standing quietly by the water and observing the landscape without urgency. The wide sky, softened hills and reflective surface of the lake created a sense of distance and calm that felt almost tangible.

I was drawn to the subtle shifts of light moving across the slopes and the quiet dialogue between earth and water. Nothing dramatic unfolds here. Instead, the landscape offers stillness — a quiet presence that does not demand attention, yet holds it.

Through transparent layers of watercolor, I allowed space for air and light to remain visible. The softness of transitions is intentional, echoing the natural rhythm of the Golan landscape — open, expansive and quietly strong.

This work is not about spectacle. It is about being present in a place where silence has depth and light moves slowly.

Tento akvarel vznikl během mého pobytu na Golanských výšinách, kdy jsem stála tiše u vody a bez spěchu pozorovala krajinu. Široké nebe, změkčené kopce a odrazná hladina vytvářely pocit odstupu a klidu, který byl téměř hmatatelný.

Přitahovaly mě jemné proměny světla na svazích i tichý dialog mezi zemí a vodou. Nic dramatického se zde neodehrává. Krajina nabízí spíše klidnou přítomnost — nenápadnou, a přesto silnou.

Transparentní vrstvy akvarelu ponechávají prostor vzduchu a světlu. Měkké přechody jsou záměrné a odrážejí rytmus golanské krajiny — otevřené, rozlehlé a tiché ve své síle.

Tento obraz není o efektu. Je o přítomnosti v místě, kde má ticho hloubku a světlo plyne pomalu.
